Since the sixties we’ve danced, Clark Kent and I,
Behind horn-rimmed glasses, that quiet disguise.
Reporter by day, savior by flight,
A love affair inked in Metropolis light.
Through ages and actors, capes flying anew,
My heart stayed loyal, from silver to blue.
Each Superman carried his strength and his grace,
Each one a guardian, each one a face.
But this newest arrival brings laughter and cheer,
A wink, a chuckle, a warmth we hold dear.
Not only the hero who battles and saves,
But one who delights with humor and waves.
And lo! at his side, bounding free with delight,
A puppy companion—his soft kryptonite.
What charm, what joy, what marvelous play,
A super-dog stealing the spotlight away.
So cheers to the journey, from past to today,
To Clark, to Kal-El, in each bright display.
My ongoing romance, still shining, still true—
Superman, forever, my heart’s déjà vu.
Since the 1960s, Superman and I have had an ongoing relationship. Clark Kent in his glasses, Kal-El in his cape — every era has given me a new reason to swoon. From the stoic saviors to the earnest heroes, I’ve loved them all.
But this newest Superman? He’s something else.
Not only does he soar, save, and smile — he does it with a sense of humor that feels refreshingly human. There’s a sparkle in his wit that makes the world feel lighter, and somehow makes the hero in the cape even more relatable.
And then, of course, there’s the puppy. Yes, a puppy. Bounding alongside him, stealing scenes with every wag of the tail — the kind of sidekick you never knew you needed until now. Kryptonite may weaken him, but clearly, so does cuteness.
So here’s my verdict:
This Superman doesn’t just lift buildings — he lifts spirits. He reminds us that even the greatest heroes can laugh, love, and play fetch. And honestly? That’s super enough for me.
